Scinet Expands Its Presence in the Innovation Ecosystem

The Scinet Institute has reached a significant milestone in its journey: official accreditation by the Information Technology Area Committee (CATI), a body linked to Brazil’s Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTI). The authorization, published in the Federal Official Gazette on September 30, 2024, recognizes Scinet as a qualified institution to develop research, development, and innovation (R&D&I) projects in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

Scinet Enters a New Phase of Technological Innovation
With this accreditation, Scinet joins a select group of institutions authorized to operate under the guidelines of the Brazilian Information Technology Law (Law No. 8,248/1991). This achievement opens new opportunities for collaboration with companies and public entities in the development and enhancement of technological solutions that support national progress.

This milestone is the result of a rigorous technical structuring process initiated in 2024, which led to the consolidation of strategic research lines in data science, automation, software engineering, and electronic systems applied to Industry 4.0.

Beyond expanding its institutional scope, the accreditation strengthens Scinet’s ability to lead high-impact projects that directly contribute to Brazil’s technological development and the digitalization of production processes—key elements in the country’s digital transformation.
